You're going to have to remove whatever mod you have. Check its site to see if there's an update for game version 1. I just updated my mods and as a result TS3 wont even start : I removed all my mods too and the same.. Do you have sims3 packages with houses and stuff and do they work?? Yes I do. It might also be a caching problem. Did you remove your temp files when you changed the mod versions? Inside SIgsCache , remove all. Inside SavedSims , remove Downloadedsims.
Inside IGACache , remove all files. Inside Thumbnails , find and delete all. Also, if there is a FeaturedItems folder, delete it entirely. If there is a WorldCaches folder, delete it. If that does not work, try the factory reset again, then only put CC back in a couple items at a time, making sure the game works after each install. Yes I have tried that! Btw I finally found the answer! It was my pre-made sims that I downloaded years ago all along!
Oh God Do you have any tips to reduce the lag? I found the mod and it doesnt help much though Main way is using Overwatch. Last edited by cruinne ; 28 Nov, pm.

Getting the Create a World tool to work with the Steam version of the game requires edits to the Windows registry. I have followed the steps outlined in this guide and it has worked for me without any issues however you make these changes at your own risk! To get it to install you need to open notepad and copy and paste the following code For Windows 7 32 bit operating systems; Windows Registry Editor Version 5.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5. So now you have the Create a World Tool installed on your PC but if you try to run it you will get an error saying that it can't find your Sims 3 content after which it closes without starting.
To fix this you need to make another addition to the Windows registry. This time you need to go to Start at the bottom left of your desktop, type RegEdit into the search box then hit Enter on your keyboard to bring up the Registry Editor. Find the registry file that you just edited and import it by selecting 'open'. The Create a World tool should now work for you with the Steam version of Sims 3. Clicking on any of the pictures throughout the guide will give you a full size version.
How to check your installation path in the Steam client, Library section, right click on the name of the game and select properties from the dropdown list Then in the Local Files tab select 'Browse Local Files" This will open the folder on your PC where The Sims 3 is installed and the address bar at the top shows you the installation path. If you click on the above picture you can see that I do not have Steam or Sims 3 installed to the default path.
In my case it is as simple as changing the "c" in the path for the code to an "F" Error Accessing the registry. If you are recieving the above error then you need to give yourself administrators access in Windows before changing the registry will work. As I said at the beginning, I have followed the steps outlined in this guide and now have the Create a World tool working with the Steam version of Sims 3 I don't have a retail or Origin version of the game installed. If you come across any other issues while using the tool, please post in the comments section below.
Also please post any links to good tutorials that you know of and I will add the links to this section. Happy world building everyone Alandrea 22 Apr pm.
